When explaining his decision to leave, Rowe said, 'I found I perform best on the bike when I'm uncomfortable...If I stayed at Ineos, I would just become too comfortable.'
Rowe noted that his long tenure at Ineos impacted his personal growth: 'You know everyone. You know the way everything works...that was also a tricky dynamic.'
He clarified there was no single reason for leaving: 'People say, Well, why did you leave then? There's no real reason...obviously, what's going on, whatever, blah, blah, blah, there's no real reason.'
