SRAM turns it up to 13 with new Red XPLR AXS gravel groupset, plus super-wide Zipp wheels, handlebars and tyres

The headline addition to the new Red XPLR AXS groupset is an extra sprocket on the cassette, making it SRAM's first 13-speed groupset, catering to gravel riding needs.

SRAM borrows technologies from its mountain bike Transmission groupsets for the rear derailleur of the Red XPLR AXS, adopting a full mount system to enhance stiffness and shifting accuracy.

The XPLR AXS update focuses on the rear derailleur, cassette, cranks, chainrings, and power meter, while levers, brakes, and chain remain unchanged from the road-going Red AXS version.

SRAM complements the Red XPLR AXS groupset with a new gravel-specific Zipp 303 XPLR wheelset, gravel handlebars, and XLPR tires developed in collaboration with Goodyear, offering a broader gravel tech ecosystem.
