The Colombian Cycling Federation announced that the Tour Colombia will not take place in 2025 due to reduced funding from the Ministry of Sport.
Funding for the race from the ministry has been reduced by 66%, cutting support from €300,000 to €100,000, citing economic difficulties and strategic sports priorities.
The federation emphasized the importance of the Tour Colombia as an event of international scope and national pride, pledging to find resources for its return in 2026.
Instead of the Tour Colombia in 2025, the focus will shift to grassroots cycling promotion and strengthening the national competition calendar to develop new talents.
