Brentwood man cleared of affray at protest following Southport murders
Briefly

Martin Power was cleared of affray charges stemming from his involvement in the Enough is Enough protest, which occurred two days after the murders of three young girls in Southport. Initially arrested among 111 individuals, the prosecution decided to drop the case against him after reviewing CCTV footage. Power accepted a legally binding undertaking to not attend any further demonstrations and paid costs to the Crown Prosecution Service. Other participants from the protest faced harsher legal consequences for their actions that day.
"Prosecutor Jacinta Stringer said that having reviewed the CCTV, the Crown would offer no evidence if Power agreed to an undertaking, a legally binding promise to the court."
"Judge Silas Reid stated that undertakings are not to be stepped into lightly, warning Power that failing to comply would lead to serious consequences."
