Gaza in need of shelter and supplies as winter storms hit
Briefly

The humanitarian crisis in Gaza escalates as displaced Palestinians struggle without adequate shelter amid harsh winter storms. The ongoing Israeli blockade restricts essential aid supplies, exacerbating conditions for hundreds of thousands. Makeshift shelters are barely habitable due to severe weather, leading to increased health risks, malnutrition, and potential famine. Aid organizations stress the urgent need for access to supply routes to alleviate the tragedy. Nearly one million displaced individuals are resorting to makeshift living conditions, lacking basic necessities like food, medicine, and heating during the brutal winter.
The cold weather has a catastrophic impact on hundreds of thousands of Palestinians living in tents and temporary shelters, especially with the lack of heating and basic supplies to protect against rain.
We are ready to scale up our response, but we urgently need systematic and sustained access to the population across Gaza, and we need an end to restrictions on the entry of essential supplies.
