Bruins notebook: Hampus Lindholm earns his 'A'
""He deserved it. He stood out to me right away, starting actually with my first conversation I had with him on the phone when I got the job and reached out to him. He's very into it. He cares. He wants to get better, he wants to be the difference and he wants to win. And he wants to be a leader. So I think he pretty much rings everything,""
""You have you're feelings that it might come but then obviously when it's announced like that it's special. I'm honored to wear it and excited about the season to start here,""
""I think I lead by example, especially how I carry myself on and off the ice. At least that's how I'd want to be remembered as a leader,""
""I think me and Chucky and Pasta are different personalities and we can help each other in different ways. So I think we've got a good mixture. But""
Hampus Lindholm was named the third alternate captain of the Boston Bruins, joining David Pastrnak and Charlie McAvoy in the team's leadership group. Lindholm called the appointment special and said he felt honored to wear the A and excited for the season. Coach Marco Sturm viewed Lindholm as a deserving leader who stood out from their first conversation, praising his commitment, winning mindset and desire to be the difference. Boston's management opted to use three alternates rather than naming a captain. Lindholm said he leads by example on and off the ice and expects complementary leadership among the three alternates.
