Oscar Piastri achieved a significant milestone in his Formula 1 career by winning the Bahrain Grand Prix, marking his fourth career victory and second of the season. This impressive win allowed him to ascend to second place in the drivers' standings, just three points behind teammate Lando Norris. Piastri demonstrated solid performance by leading the race and finishing 15.5 seconds ahead of the second-place driver, George Russell. The race also saw Norris overcoming a grid box penalty to secure third place while other top competitors encountered various challenges throughout the race.
"That should be one hell of a party tonight. Mega weekend everyone. That was pretty damn fun," Piastri said on Sunday after marking his 50th start in perfect style.
Piastri built his lead throughout the race and won by a dominant 15.5 seconds, leaving the jockeying for position to those behind him.
Norris, who started sixth, gained a spot on the podium despite being penalised five seconds for being out of position in his grid box.
For Piastri, the Bahrain Grand Prix marked the 50th race start of his F1 career. He is the first multiple-race winner of the 2025 season.
