After five years with the UConn Huskies, senior guard Paige Bueckers concluded her college career by winning a national championship. UConn defeated the defending champions, the South Carolina Gamecocks, marking their 12th title. The championship parade was held in Hartford, Connecticut, attended by Bueckers and Coach Geno Auriemma, before they headed to NYC for the 2025 WNBA Draft. Bueckers is projected to be the No. 1 pick for the Dallas Wings. During her final season, she averaged 19.9 points, while Azzi Fudd earned the Final Four Most Outstanding Player award.
At both the parade and in New York, the All-American from Minnesota was donning a UConn-themed national championship hat and sweatshirt to go along with Huskies sweatpants.
Bueckers, along with her coach, made her way back to NYC for Monday's 2025 WNBA Draft, where she is widely projected as the No. 1 overall pick for the Dallas Wings.
