The Boston Bruins have completed a trade with the Buffalo Sabres, acquiring defender Henri Jokiharju for a 2026 4th Round Pick. This strategic move follows the Bruins' recent decision to part ways with Brandon Carlo, suggesting that Jokiharju will have ample opportunity to contribute to the team. Having been a third-pairing defender for the Sabres, Jokiharju brings experience as a depth player, with an average scoring record of 15 to 19 points per season since joining the team in 2019.
If it got done in time Buff sends Jokiharju to Boston.- Darren Dreger (@DarrenDreger) March 7, 2025
Jokiharju has been largely a 3rd pairing defender for Buffalo this season, and was originally sent to the Sabres for Alex Nylander in 2019 as part of a trade.
One would imagine Jokiharju is going to see plenty of playing time, as the Bruins have moved on from Brandon Carlo today.
As for how he'll do in Sacco's system? Well, we'll see.
