Massachusetts Governor Maura Healey is ramping up her national media visibility as she prepares for her reelection campaign. She recently appeared on "Late Night with Seth Meyers" following a significant interview with The New York Times, where she critiqued the Trump administration, supported diversity policies, and addressed local issues like the migrant crisis. With plans to run for a second term, Healey cites accomplishments in housing, transportation, tax cuts, and education, amid early signs of potential challengers in the upcoming race.
Healey said last month that she plans to seek a second term. "When Kim [Driscoll] and I started, we laid out in our inaugural address things that we wanted to do."
Healey appears to already have at least one potential challenger. Andrea James, an advocate for incarcerated women, recently submitted paperwork that marks the first steps towards running for governor.
