Tragedy struck in Pembroke, New Hampshire, where a woman and boy were found shot in their home early Friday morning. After a 911 call, police discovered both victims suffering from gunshot wounds. The boy was later pronounced dead at a hospital, while the woman died at the scene. Authorities are treating the incident as a potential murder-suicide, although investigations are still in the initial stages. As of now, officials reassured that there is no ongoing threat to the public, and autopsies are scheduled shortly to uncover more details.
"While the investigation is just beginning, there does not appear to be any threat to the general public in connection with these two deaths," the AG's office stated.
"The child - a boy - was taken to Concord Hospital, where he was pronounced dead. The woman was pronounced dead in the home."
According to a release from the state Attorney General's Office, Pembroke police responded to a single-family home at about 1 a.m. after a 911 call.
Authorities are investigating this as a possible murder and suicide of these two residents living at that location.
