Tristan Hightower, a 16-year-old from Brooklyn, allegedly shot Jamal Davis, his mother's boyfriend, during a dispute over marijuana use. The incident occurred in their apartment on April 12. Hightower's mother, who is pregnant, had asked him to stop smoking, leading to a confrontation. After retrieving a handgun, Hightower shot Davis twice, resulting in his death. Hightower was arrested days later in the Bronx, having been living on the streets. He faces charges of murder and criminal possession of a firearm.
