Just before 3 p.m. Tuesday, the FBI's National Threat Operation Center contacted the Dalton Police Department about a man who called the center and made claims that "sparked mental health concerns," according to the Berkshire District Attorney's Office. The man reportedly told the NTOC that he was paranoid that law enforcement were listening to his phone calls, alleged that he and his family were attacked by organized crime groups, and expressed fears about a "machine" in his basement.
SUNNYVALE An investigation is underway into the shooting death of a woman Wednesday night in Sunnyvale, authorities said. The shooting happened around 9:40 p.m. in the 1200 block of Vienna Drive, the Sunnyvale Department of Public Safety said in a news release. Officers arrived to find the woman inside a vehicle suffering from gunshot wounds. The woman was pronounced dead at the scene.
Ryan Hardy, 23, should be considered armed and dangerous, Antioch police Lt. William Whitaker said in a news release. Members of the public are advised not to confront him, Whitaker said. Anyone who sees Hardy in public or has information regarding his whereabouts is urged to call 911 immediately. Detectives identified Hardy as a suspect through a combination of video surveillance, witness statements and forensic evidence.
York police are investigating after a home in Richmond Hill was the target of a shooting for the second time in three months. Just before 5 a.m. Wednesday, officers responded to reports of gunshots on Bryson Drive, in the area of Carville Road and Bathurst Street, York police said in a news release. They found a vehicle parked in a driveway that was damaged by gunshots.
OAKLAND - A 42-year-old woman was shot Sunday night while she was sitting in her parked car in West Oakland, authorities said. The woman was in stable condition Monday at a hospital where she was being treated for a wound to her lower leg, authorities said. The shooting happened about 8:39 p.m. Sunday in the 1700 block of Goss Street. The woman, who lives nearby, told police she was sitting in her car when she heard gunfire and realized she had been wounded.
On Christmas Day, just before midnight at 11.27pm, emergency services responded to Wilfred Drive in Darnall after a 20-year-old man was reported to have been shot in his chest. The victim was taken to hospital, where he remains in a critical, life-threatening condition. Following the incident, detectives immediately began working at pace to understand the circumstances and quickly had four men arrested in connection to the incident.
One person is dead after a shooting in Scarborough, Toronto police say. Police say in a post on X, formerly Twitter, that a person was found with a gunshot wound just after 3:30 p.m. at Highland Creek Trail and Old Kingston Road, near the University of Toronto Scarborough campus (UTSC). UTSC has issued a safety alert advising anyone in a building to stay inside and anyone outdoors to leave the area. The homicide unit has been notified, police say.
Canton police issued a shelter-in-place for residences in the area where a woman was shot Monday night as police actively search for an armed suspect. "Police do not believe this was a random act of violence, and significant mutual aid resources are in Canton conducting a search for the suspect," Interim Police Chief Joseph Perkins said in a statement. Police responded to a report of a person shot at the Lamplighter Village apartment complex, near the intersection of Turnpike Street and Stagecoach Road, around 6:40 p.m.

Six teenagers were injured in a shooting early Sunday morning outside a party venue in Cypress Hills, Brooklyn, according to police. Officers responded at approximately 1:15 a.m. to a 911 call reporting multiple people shot outside 2929 Atlantic Ave., an NYPD spokesperson said. When police officers arrived, they found six victims ranging in age from 15 to 17. A 15-year-old girl was shot in the chest, hip and leg, while another 15-year-old girl was shot in the right leg.
