Bushwick filmmaker unpacks psychology and suspense in Queer thrillers * Brooklyn Paper
Briefly

Christian Hendricks is a Brooklyn-based filmmaker known for his short films that capture the raw and stylish aspects of queer life. With 15 years in media production and a background in photography, he focuses on portraying people in real-life scenarios. Hendricks believes filmmaking allows for exploring the contradictions and nuances of character traits better than still imagery. His first two short films, part of a trilogy, reflect this depth and psychological exploration, with his debut, 'Keyholder,' being a psychological mystery set in Bushwick.
Hendricks ventured into filmmaking, a genre that offered more opportunities to portray humans full of contradictions and nuanced character traits that are difficult to capture in a single still image.
Filmmaking became a better tool for me to start to explore the contradictions that people are filled with, as both of my first two short films do.
