The Brooklyn Botanic Garden is gearing up for cherry blossom season, as indicated by their Cherrywatch tracker, which shows early blooms on select trees. While the sought-after Sakura Matsuri festival won't be happening this year, the garden will host a series of events to honor the cherry blossoms. These include the Weekends in Bloom series, featuring Japanese music and dance, and special Hanami Nights events offering evening strolls with performances and refreshments. Guests can find more details and buy tickets on the BBG's website.
Although the popular Sakura Matsuri isn't making a return this year, the garden has a slate of events lined up this month to celebrate the season.
During weekends in April and May, guests can enjoy Japanese music and dance under the pink flowers at the garden's Weekends in Bloom series.
During special Hanami Nights events from Tuesday, April 22 to Friday, April 25, guests can purchase tickets to stay late from 5 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.
Visitors can stroll the sunset grounds accompanied by a wide variety of classical and modern Japanese performances, as well as snacks and bento boxes.
