Seven unidentified people entered the sewer system near McDonald Avenue and Colin Place in Gravesend at about 11 p.m. Thursday and exited around 2 a.m. Surveillance footage shows them leaving the manhole one by one, gathering near two parked cars, removing soiled clothing, and cleaning themselves. About two hours later, eight unidentified people entered the sewer system near Heyward Street and Bedford Avenue in Williamsburg and exited around 3:40 a.m., leaving in a vehicle. Searches at both sites found nothing, and the 62nd Precinct reported the area was safe and free of hazards. The Department of Environmental Protection inspected the Gravesend sewer infrastructure and found no damage, and it remains unclear whether the incidents are connected.
