Heaps of disgusting wet trash turn Brooklyn street into smelly makeshift dump after trash truck fire

On Saturday morning, a sanitation truck caught fire in Downtown Brooklyn, resulting in an overwhelming amount of trash spilling onto Livingston Street. Photographer Bob Ahern documented the scene, displaying heaps of wet cardboard, plastic bags, and newspapers. The FDNY reported the fire occurred around 7:30 a.m., but did not disclose its cause. Fortunately, there were no injuries. Firefighters responded swiftly, using multiple firetrucks and hoses to manage the situation, which also included debris still smoldering from the blaze.
