Kenhy Sarrias Buelvas, a 37-year-old illegal immigrant, was arrested for the August 2022 murder of Bronx teenager Kemari Sanders. The police used DNA from a sweatshirt found in a laundromat to identify Buelvas, who allegedly shot Sanders after mistaking him for a robber. Despite an initial survival period of over a month post-shooting, Sanders succumbed to his injuries. Detectives retrieved that piece of clothing, which was tested for any DNA...a wanted flyer led to a tip from a caller who said the person resembled a Colombian who sells weed from a van.
