On June 4, 2025, an MTA Mobile Wash Unit truck crashed into an apartment building in Greenpoint, Brooklyn, around 5 a.m., sending one woman to the hospital for minor injuries. The collision caused the building to shake and raised alarm among witnesses, prompting a rapid response from the FDNY Hazmat Company and NYC Department of Buildings officials for assessment. Thankfully, the damage was largely contained, although the scaffolding was deemed unstable. The MTA is conducting an internal review while cooperating with police investigations.
