Zohran Mamdani collected $1,051,200 in private donations between July 12 and Aug. 18 from 8,461 donors, averaging $121 per contribution. Forty-nine point four percent of contributions came from New York City and the remainder came from outside the five boroughs. Mamdani’s campaign submitted $281,270 in claims for the city’s public funds program, which matches eligible contributions 8-to-1, and expects that to unlock more than $3 million in matching funds. Including anticipated public funds, the campaign reports over $7 million raised for the general election. Andrew Cuomo raised $507,660 and Eric Adams raised $420,886. Mamdani won the June Democratic primary by nearly 13 points. Campaign spokesperson Dora Pekec credited grassroots support and criticized Cuomo and Adams donors with ties to President Trump.
