NYC Will Redevelop Arces Of BK Coastline, Make Modern Marine Terminal
Briefly

By assuming control of the Brooklyn Marine Terminal in Red Hook, our administration is delivering big wins for New Yorkers, planning for significant improvements in the area, including housing, retail, and green space additions.
The development is part of Mayor Adams's 'Harbor of the Future' vision, with an $80 million initial investment to stabilize and repair piers and $15 million for a new electrified container crane at the terminal.
NYC Economic Development Corporation will manage the terminal by mid-June, including a $15 million commitment for a cold storage facility to address quality-of-life concerns for residents.
The lack of cold storage in Red Hook has led to traffic and pollution issues, which this project aims to mitigate while working with the community and stakeholders for a comprehensive plan.
