A three-alarm fire destroyed the 100-year-old Iglesia Pentecostal Arca Cristiana in Bushwick on Wednesday morning, forcing firefighters to retreat due to the risk of collapse. The fire, which started around 10:30 a.m., was battled by over 140 firefighters who struggled against heavy smoke and freezing temperatures. The church's bell tower collapsed, leading to extensive damage and likely demolition. Nearby buildings were scorched but remained intact. Thankfully, the only person inside, the pastor, evacuated safely, and no injuries were reported.

The bell tower collapsed, and Wednesday afternoon, there was extensive damage to the church.
That was my church when I was a little girl, it was my family's church over the decades.
No injuries were reported, and the only person inside the church when the fire started was the pastor, who evacuated himself safely.
