"Police said on Feb. 4, after an investigation, an individual was arrested and charged in the 68th Precinct. The suspect was identified as Megan Horne, a 34-year-old woman from Staten Island. Horne faces multiple charges, including Hate Crime Assault, Hate Crime Aggravated Harassment, Act in a Manner Injurious to a Child, and Assault, according to police. Gov. Kathy Hochul condemned the alleged attacks and praised law enforcement for making an arrest."

At approximately 2:25 p.m., a 33-year-old woman said she was pushed and kicked in front of 8902 Fifth Ave, and police reported Islamophobic remarks. At 2:33 p.m., a 39-year-old was pushed while boarding a B53 bus on 92nd Street. Minutes later, a 12-year-old girl was struck in the face near Fort Hamilton Parkway and 92nd Street. All victims declined medical treatment. On Feb. 4, police arrested 34-year-old Megan Horne of Staten Island and charged her with multiple hate crime and assault counts. Gov. Kathy Hochul and Council Member Kayla Santosuosso condemned the attacks and expressed solidarity with Muslim residents.
