Economic growth largely gushes up to a privileged few, with the five richest men doubling their wealth while nearly 5 billion people get poorer.

Hundreds of millions struggle to survive in a world that's never been wealthier, often exploited in low-paying dangerous jobs to boost elite profits.

Current growth practices in low-income countries are often extractive, relying on cheap labor and natural resource exploitation.

The focus needs to shift from prioritizing economic growth above all else to building a human rights economy that considers the well-being of people and the planet.
