And these profits expanded far faster than its workforce. Headcount increased to about 36,000 employees in 2025, up nearly 22% from 2024. The company's filings show that gross margin growth was driven by its Data Center segment, which increased 142% from the previous year. The rise was led by demand for Hopper GPU architecture used in generative AI."
Finance automation company Tipalti analyzed the Fortune Global 500 using publicly reported net profit and employee counts to calculate profit per employee. Fannie Mae generated nearly $17 billion in profits across about 8,200 employees, yielding more than $2 million per worker. Fannie Mae reported Q2 2025 net worth of $101.6 billion and total non-interest expenses of $2.3 billion, down from $2.4 billion a year earlier. Nvidia reported $130.5 billion revenue and $72.88 billion net income in 2025, with revenue up 114% and net income up 145%, driven by Data Center demand for Hopper GPUs. Freddie Mac earned $11.9 billion in 2024 with roughly 8,000 employees and expanded automation to improve efficiency.
