Trainline dips after boss reveals plans to quit
"Under Jody's leadership the group has undergone a period of exceptional growth. We have created Europe's number one rail app serving 27 million customers, doubling net ticket sales in the UK and International consumer businesses, more than doubling profits and growing new markets in France, Spain and Italy."
Trainline's chief executive Jody Ford announced his plan to resign from the ticketing platform company after more than six years in the role. The announcement triggered a 7% decline in share value on Wednesday morning. Ford will remain in his position during a transition period while the company conducts a formal search for his successor. Under Ford's leadership, Trainline achieved significant growth, including doubling UK net ticket sales, more than doubling profits, and expanding operations to France, Spain, and Italy. The company now serves 27 million customers across Europe's leading rail app. Despite these accomplishments, company shares have declined approximately 30% over the past six months.
