Uncertainty over the economy and tariffs is prompting many retailers to reduce or delay seasonal hiring for distribution, in-store and holiday display roles. American Christmas LLC plans to hire 220 temporary workers, down from 300 last year, and is delaying recruitment by nearly two months to offset an expected tariff bill of $1.5 million. Amazon plans to hire 250,000 full-, part-time and seasonal workers, matching last year.
