Processing units at the Benicia Refinery will be permanently idled, with the idling expected by the end of April. The action will affect 237 of the facility's 348 employees, with separations occurring from March 15 through July 1. The affected employees are not represented by a union and do not possess bumping rights. There is no planned coordination of transition services with the local workforce development board or other entities. Laid-off workers are directed to America's Job Center of California for resume help, interview practice, job search assistance, and training program information. Contact numbers and an email for the Solano County Workforce Development Board are provided.
