A 7-month-old baby named Emmanuel Haro was reported missing on Aug. 14 after his mother said she was attacked outside a retail store on Yucaipa Boulevard. The mother reported being rendered unconscious while changing the child’s diaper and waking to find the baby gone. Scent-tracking dogs were deployed but the infant was not located. Law enforcement initially described the infant’s appearance and sought public assistance, saying no suspect information was available. Investigators continued searches the following day. The child’s parents, Jake Mitchell Haro and Rebecca Renee Haro, have been arrested in the baby’s death while the search continues.
