After almost 40 years, the remains of Reginald Frisby were identified by the Calaveras County Cold Case Task Force as part of an investigation into the Wilseyville serial killings linked to Leonard Lake and Charles Ng. Frisby's remains were uncovered in 1985 at a crime scene, and recent advancements in DNA technology enabled the task force to reassess unidentified remains in the county, aiming to provide closure to victims' families. The investigation into the circumstances surrounding Frisby's death continues, amid the backdrop of the horrific murders committed by Lake and Ng.
The purpose of the reexamination project was, is, and will continue to be to identify remains while providing closure to victims' families.
Frisby's remains had been linked to the killings committed by Ng and Lake in Wilseyville, elsewhere in Calaveras County and in other parts of California in 1984 and 1985.
