Two arrested following one robbery in East Bay and attempt at another one
"Officers with Lafayette police made the arrest about 1:20 p.m. after police had been alerted to the robbery in Alamo, according to a statement from Contra Costa Sheriff's Office spokesperson Jimmy Lee. The sheriff's office has jurisdiction over Alamo and contracts out with Lafayette police. The two men - a 23-year-old Antioch man and 20-year-old man without a residence listed - remained in custody on Thursday in lieu of $200,000 and $150,000 bail, respectively, according to jail records. Lee said officers arrested each man on suspicion of two counts of robbery, attempted robbery and conspiracy."
"It all started when the sheriff's office received reports about 1 p.m. of a robbery at a bank on the 3100 block of Danville Boulevard in Alamo. Danville police identified a license plate after the sheriff's office broadcast the descriptions of the two men and vehicle to law enforcement agencies. In a statement, Lafayette police said their officers spotted the car on Dewing Avenue as an attempted robbery happened at a bank in the 3600 block of Mt. Diablo Boulevard. The car raced off, and officers found it a few minutes later parked and unoccupied off of Lafayette Circle."
Law enforcement arrested two men about 1:20 p.m. after receiving reports of a bank robbery in Alamo. Lafayette officers encountered the car during an attempted bank robbery in Lafayette; the vehicle fled and was later found parked and unoccupied off Lafayette Circle. Officers located and detained both suspects nearby and found a replica Glock in a backpack. The suspects, a 23-year-old Antioch man and a 20-year-old man with no listed residence, face robbery, attempted robbery and conspiracy charges with bail set at $200,000 and $150,000.
