Plans to require most employees on-site four days a week were delayed by a year for workers covered by new union agreements. Negotiations produced deals extending telework options for many staff, managers and supervisors through June 2026. As of Oct. 9, the state listed several full-time positions on CalCareers with telework or hybrid schedules, including accounting roles with specific remote-day allowances and department-approved telework. State positions include competitive benefits and enrollment in the public pension plan.
