Two individuals have been charged with attempting to smuggle approximately 45 kilograms of cannabis on a flight from Toronto to the UK, according to the RCMP.
The accused were traveling separately without any known connection. Border agents discovered two cases of cannabis hidden in their luggage during inspections.
The first accused, a 40-year-old, is alleged to have carried nearly 22 kilograms of cannabis, while a 32-year-old is linked to 22.5 kilograms.
Both individuals have been charged with exporting cannabis contrary to the Cannabis Act. They have been released and are set to appear in court in February.
