Colmenarez, accused of drunken driving and other violations, was at the courthouse for his arraignment when agents attempted to detain him under immigration orders. Witnesses described chaos with loud commotion before the arrest, which resulted in a bench warrant after he failed to appear. Colmenarez is currently being detained by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement in Texas.

Court liaison officer Jared Neff described hearing a commotion and voices yelling 'Stop!' before witnessing the struggle as agents arrested Marquez Colmenarez.
The agents were executing orders to detain immigrants, with Neff stating that Colmenarez actively resisted arrest, leading to a chaotic scene.
After failing to appear for his arraignment related to multiple charges, a bench warrant was issued, and Colmenarez is now held by ICE.
