'Friends' actor slams Canadian lawmaker for trying to ban him from doing stand-up in the country
Briefly

In a recent article, comedian Michael Rapaport responded to Canadian Parliament member Heather McPherson's call to prevent him from entering Canada for his stand-up shows. McPherson cited Rapaport's history of 'Islamophobic speech' and criminal behavior as reasons for the ban, claiming it's essential to combat the rising Islamophobia in Canada. Rapaport retorted that it was one of the most absurd campaigns against him yet, asserting he would still perform and inviting McPherson to attend. His defiance highlights tensions surrounding free speech and activism regarding Israel.
"If you're reading this, Heather, I have front-row seats reserved for you and the New Democrats. That's a genuine offer," Rapaport wrote on Monday.
"We are witnessing an alarming increase in Islamophobia in Canada and globally. All Canadians deserve to feel safe in our communities," she wrote.
McPherson referred to Rapaport's 'significant criminal history' and 'Islamophobic speech' as justification for keeping him out of Canada.
Rapaport called the push to ban him the 'craziest campaign against me yet,' insisting it's more ridiculous than protests he faced before.
