Ontario Premier Ford says he'd 'blast' CEO of American-owned Stelco after U.S. announces more tariffs | CBC News
Briefly

Ontario Premier Doug Ford criticized Cleveland-Cliffs CEO Lourenco Goncalves for supporting U.S. steel and aluminum tariffs and said he would confront him. Ford joined union leaders in Hamilton to announce training and employment services for workers laid off because of U.S. tariffs and policies. Cleveland-Cliffs purchased Stelco last year for $3.4 billion CAD. Canadian-made steel and aluminum currently face 50 per cent tariffs when entering the U.S. Ford suggested Cleveland-Cliffs sell Stelco or that the province buy it. The U.S. increased tariffs on more than 400 products, which local officials warned would be devastating for Hamilton.
