Chadd Ritenbaugh, 55, was filmed apologizing after being confronted for allegedly vandalizing a Tesla with a swastika in Pennsylvania. The incident occurred outside a gym, where Ritenbaugh was identified through security footage and his gym membership. The Tesla owner discovered the vandalism once home, prompting the confrontation. Ritenbaugh claimed he disliked Musk but had no issues with the car owner, attributing the act to being "misguided" and insisting he used a crayon instead of a key. He faces charges for criminal mischief, harassment, and disorderly conduct as a result of the incident.
"I'm sorry, I have nothing against your car, and I have nothing against you," Ritenbaugh could be heard saying meekly.
"Obviously, I have something against Elon Musk," he said of the Tesla owner.
Ritenbaugh was booked on criminal mischief, harassment and disorderly conduct charges.
The shameless ordeal is just the latest in a spate of vandalism attacks targeting Tesla owners and dealerships across the country.
