The victim, a teenager, contacted police to report the assault, which occurred in a parked vehicle. She was able to provide vital information to investigators.
After the victim's report, police identified the suspect and discovered the vehicle he used, leading to a pursuit and capture by local officials on Highway 101.
Omar Shirkhan faces serious charges including raping a drugged victim and unlawfully engaging with a minor. He is currently held on a substantial bail.
