Rivian's flagship EVs, the R1T pickup and R1S SUV, faces a recall issue due to missing airbag labels, which is a minor compared to the past recalls for faulty airbag sensors and improperly secured seatbelts.
The recall affects 127 units, built between February 19 and March 8, 2024, violating the Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard 571.208-Occupant crash protection by lacking airbag labels on the dashboard.
The missing label is not a crucial safety concern as it is a simple requirement by the standard, leading to a red-tape situation where the label does not even need to be permanently affixed.
