Ram has revealed the 2026 Ram 1500 Ramcharger, a new type of vehicle known as a Range Extender Electric Vehicle (REEV). This truck merges the performance of electric vehicles with the extended range associated with hybrid models by incorporating a 3.6-liter Pentastar V-6 internal combustion engine that activates as a generator when the battery runs low. The vehicle responds to governmental regulations while aiming to satisfy consumer demand. Due to strong interest, production has been advanced to late 2025, while plans for a battery-only version are postponed.
