In August 2024, residents reported several abandoned vehicles and a loading lorry in Marwell Close, prompting Councillor Jane Keane to reach out to housing association First Port. Despite initial contact, no action was taken until February 4, when Havering Council's enforcement team intervened. Keane commended the resident's efforts in addressing anti-social behavior. Currently, three cars remain with removal notices. The council has initiated steps to manage planning breaches related to the abandoned vehicles, while police clarified that the matter is under council jurisdiction.
I praise the vigilance of the resident. Action has been taken because of persistent hard work. Together, we have put a stop to anti-social behaviour in Marwell Close.
The property owner has to provide written answers to the council and this will help us determine our next steps.
