Chicago's Best Restaurant Meals of 2024
Briefly

After hearing it lauded a bit, I was concerned that the Hot Pot Italian Beef at Three Little Pigs would be Doing Too Much. In retrospect, this was a silly concern since if there's any city that does mashups with traditional Asian flavors well, it's Chicago.
One highlight was a birthday meal at Elske when chef Posey sent out his special plse (not an innuendo) to remind us of our love for Denmark. Another was a solo meal at Akahoshi; there was a spicy decadent September monthly special ramen bowl that I never wanted to end.
There were a handful of meals that stood out slurping lavish oysters and clutching beef-fat griddled toast at Oliver's, enjoying a birthday meal from Valhalla where even the desserts could have their own restaurant (coming soon!).
I refuse to pick a favorite. Eating is messy and feral to the point of being disrespectful, and yes, I'd do it again.
