KC's New QB1? Justin Fields Traded From Jets to Chiefs
"ESPN's Adam Schefter reports the New York Jets are trading Justin Fields to the Kansas City Chiefs. One year after signing Fields to a sizable contract at the outset of free agency, Schefter reports the Jets are shipping Fields off to the Chiefs in exchange for a 2027 sixth-round pick. Once the trade becomes officially official, it will be Fields' fourth different team in as many years."
"A weird (but fun) quirk about the timing of this trade is that it comes two years to the day when the Bears traded Justin Fields to the Pittsburgh Steelers. Happy (?) anniversary! That post popped up in my Facebook memories, and it had me thinking about how much has changed in this organization since that trade went down on St. Paddy's Day weekend 2024."
Justin Fields has been traded from the New York Jets to the Kansas City Chiefs in exchange for a 2027 sixth-round pick. This move represents Fields' fourth team change in as many years, following his journey from the Chicago Bears to the Pittsburgh Steelers and then to the Jets. The trade occurred exactly two years after the Bears originally traded Fields to Pittsburgh on March 16, 2024. Fields reportedly preferred Kansas City over other interested teams. This opportunity with the Chiefs may provide Fields a chance to recapture the success he experienced during his 2023 season with the Bears, which was his best professional performance to date.
