Kevin Byard, I was told by somebody who would know, that he is 70-30 that he is going to get a Bear. They're working on it, they're trying to get a deal done that's fair for both sides. ... And then you're going to have to pair him, probably with a young safety, unless there is a veteran out there.
It's no secret that A.J. Brown had an up-and-down year with the Philadelphia Eagles. He had seven games in which he had fewer than 50 receiving yards and barely eclipsed the 1,000-yard mark. He didn't hesitate to air his frustrations with the offense either.
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- Jakobi Meyers has worn No. 16 his entire seven-year NFL career, but he knew that wasn't going to be the case after being traded to the Jacksonville Jaguars. That number belongs to quarterback Trevor Lawrence, which is why Meyers didn't even ask. "I just understood the price tag that would've came with it, and I wasn't trying to take out another mortgage," he said. "I'm good where I'm at."
Considering he hasn't had a good season and fell down the depth chart throughout the summer, it's almost shocking to see any team willing to give up even late-round draft capital to acquire him. But given the losses the 49ers have dealt with, like Fred Warner, it's not entirely surprising that they were interested in providing White a fresh start. The Patriots make their first big trade ahead of the 2025 NFL deadline
Carter, a fifth-round pick in 2021, became the NFL's highest-paid slot corner in 2024 when he signed a three-year, $30.75 million extension. He's under contract through 2027 for $20.3 million, but only $2.7 million is guaranteed -- his remaining base salary this season ($1.3 million) and a partial guarantee in 2026 ($1.4 million). An additional $4 million will become guaranteed if he's on a roster next March.
It was Oct. 30, 2022 and 49ers coach Kyle Shanahan had his first chance to unleash his new toy on the Los Angeles Rams. Christian McCaffrey arrived by trade 10 days earlier for a handful of draft picks, none in the first round. The Rams, coached by Shanahan's longtime friendly rival Sean McVay, had also tried to trade with Carolina to get McCaffrey.
Minnesota Vikings receiver Adam Thielen took a $2 million pay cut to help finalize the trade that sent him from the Carolina Panthers back to his hometown team, sources confirmed Saturday. As a result, Thielen will earn roughly $5 million this season. The Vikings and Panthers spent more than a week discussing the deal. Some of the delay was related to draft pick compensation.
