"In Baltimore, Doyle will have the same title he had in Chicago. However, being the Ravens' offensive coordinator under defensive-leaning head coach Jesse Minter entails some different duties. Most notably, Doyle will take on play-calling responsibilities with in Baltimore - which is something he wasn't going to do in Chicago with Bears Head Coach Ben Johnson having full command of that role."
"Turning down Philly made sense with how unstable that situation seems to be from the outside. But when the Baltimore Ravens came calling shortly after Doyle's rejection of the Eagles, I understood that this figured to be a more alluring proposition. Because it's not just the opportunity to call plays in Baltimore, but it is also the chance to do so with two-time NFL MVP Lamar Jackson."
Declan Doyle is leaving the Chicago Bears to become the Baltimore Ravens offensive coordinator. Doyle will retain the same title but will take on play-calling responsibilities under defensive-leaning head coach Jesse Minter. The opportunity to call plays with two-time NFL MVP Lamar Jackson influenced the move. Doyle previously declined an overture from the Philadelphia Eagles. The Bears' offseason coaching turnover has continued, including Running Backs Coach Eric Bieniemy rejoining the Kansas City Chiefs as offensive coordinator and the departure of Assistant General Manager Ian Cunni. The Bears now face additional roster and staff decisions entering the offseason.
