Poor execution hurts White Sox starter Sean Burke in loss to A's
Briefly

Right-hander Sean Burke began his White Sox career promisingly but has struggled to maintain that performance in the current season. After a poor showing against the Guardians, Burke reflected on his struggles. In his latest start against the Athletics, he allowed five runs and served up two homers in less than four innings. Despite his initial success, he has faced difficulties, failing to give his team a chance to win, which he finds frustrating as he aims to improve his performance moving forward.
"Outside of the first game, I feel it's been pretty bad," Burke said of his last three starts. "It's been frustrating. The last two [starts], just not really putting ourselves in a good position to win the game is super-frustrating for me."
Burke acknowledged the need to evaluate his recent performance closely: "Instead, he said he was going to watch it and examine what went wrong."
Burke got off to a poor start against the A's, yielding back-to-back singles before allowing a three-run homer in the first.
"I would like to be able to go five, six innings in that game and give the team a chance to win."
