White Sox seek first season win vs. Royals as series shifts to Chicago
Briefly

After splitting a series with the Detroit Tigers, the Chicago White Sox aim to build on their success when they face the Kansas City Royals. The White Sox celebrated a walk-off victory, with Tim Elko's key hit and standout performance by rookie Chase Meidroth. Meanwhile, the Royals managed to halt a losing streak with a split doubleheader against the Cardinals. Notably, Kansas City's rookie Jac Caglianone made his impactful debut, while the White Sox prepare to promote their top prospect, Kyle Teel, for his first MLB game.
"These guys do a great job of continuing to fight, continuing to be aggressive," Chicago manager Will Venable said.
"Choke up, spread out a little bit in the stance and try to make contact. ... It was cool," Caglianone said. "I was just thinking about my dad, my family being here and stuff."
"Early on in my career, six [innings] and four [runs] is something I would be super pumped about," said Martin, 28. "But I'm [mad] about it right now."
