In a strong start to their season, the Chicago White Sox pitchers held a remarkable streak, with no earned runs for the first three games. In Game 4, Martín PéreZ shone brightly, pitching six no-hit innings and leading the Sox to a commanding 9-0 victory over the Minnesota Twins. Despite not hitting high velocities, PéreZ showcased remarkable pitching skills, striking out nine batters. The team's offensive power also blossomed with significant home runs from Andrew Vaughn, Andrew Benintendi, and Michael A. Taylor, leading to a dominant win and excellent team dynamics.
"I don't have the velocity anymore, but I know how to pitch and I know how to move the ball," PéreZ said. "It was a great game."
"They asked me how I felt. I told them I feel great, but I was honest too. There's no way I can go three more innings with that kind of pitch count," said PéreZ.
"We came out swinging today. We had a good approach, and we stuck to it," Andrew Vaughn stated.
"Overall, it was a great game and we got the win," PéreZ reflected after his no-hit outing.
