A man in a green shirt and khaki pants carried a keg to Georgetown Cupcake near midnight and threw it at the closed sweets shop’s window, shattering glass across the area. A baker inside rushed to the back for safety. The co-owner reported the window is robust but estimated the damage at about $10,000 and said the scale of vandalism is unprecedented in 18 years. The incident occurred the same day as graduations for Georgetown and George Washington Universities. The window was boarded up and the business resumed operations the next day.
