Costco customer makes eye-popping $600 profit after re-selling a small item a year later: 'Surprisingly easy'
Briefly

Finance influencer Humphrey Yang purchased a one-ounce PAMP Suisse gold ingot at Costco for $2,359 in April 2024 and sold it in March 2025 for a profit of $595.43. He found the selling process to be easy, especially when offered $2,955.42 per ounce by Witter Coin in San Francisco. Although his profit was significant, some TikTok viewers criticized his timing, noting that the gold price rose sharply post-sale, potentially reaching $3,300 per ounce, sparking debate about market timing among consumers and investors.
The influencer found the offer more than reasonable given that the spot price was around $3,020 and dealers generally purchase at slightly below market value.
Costco isn't just a place to save - customers can apparently invest as well.
While the life hacker may have seemed like he had the Midas Touch, some TikTok viewers claimed that the Costco prospector might've pulled the trigger prematurely.
Since Yang hawked his ingot, the price of gold has soared to a staggering $3,300 per ounce.
